Maralinga – the Anangu Story

This project was begun by Christobel Mattingly and carried out by artists of Oak Valley and Yalata in western South Australia.

Yorke Peninsula has done it again – this time for Burra. Thankyou folks for an exhibition of sea salt and things washed up, jetties and tinnies and beach shacks 1950s style.

We’re starting the year right at Burra Regional Art Gallery, with a lovely intimate exhibition of the work of Kate Jenkins and Peter Hart. Something very different to tempt us.

The exhibition runs from Thursday February 3rd to Wednesday March 2nd.

The opening will be 5.30 for 6pm Friday February 11th.

“Landscape” is the visual representation of the air and the earth’s skin. We see the subject matter every day. Most of us appreciate the effects of light, weather and mood on the sky and skin – those folded hills, that stretch of land reaching far beyond, that sense of unknown horizons past the vanishing point of our imagination.
