Fibre artists Alvena Hall, Cheryl Bridgart, Chris Beck, Julie Haddrick, Mary Williams, Moira Simpson, Rosi Gates, and Veronica Oborn-Jefferis present an exciting and diverse range of works all created using some form of machine embroidery. Their artworks illustrate the artistic potential of expressive machine stitching for drawing, mark-making and creating texture, using fabric or paper as a base. The artists use diverse methods including decorative machine embroidery, free motion stitching, and machine stitched appliqué, in conjunction with quilting, fabric dyeing, beading, hand stitching, and other forms of colouration and surface embellishment.
