PLAY RITES – SYNOPSIS
A one act play about two women writing a play.
Play Rites is vibrant, entertaining, funny, serious, enlightening, with an easy flow of dialogue throughout that will captivate the audience.
Including socio-political themes touching on a number of countries around the world and various subjects such as the history of the naming of Adelaide, and South Australia being the first place women received the vote in Australia.
This, plus the love-life travel experiences of Chez, the main character and writer. This fascinates Lorri, the other character, who has led a more retiring life, dominated by an abusive husband – a marriage she escapes in the middle of the night, after having a knife to her throat.
The personalities of both characters are quirky, attractive, and embracing. The audience will want to know more about them at the end of the play.
