Natalia Yandell – Artist Profile

Amuroona Rocks Far Nth S.A. - Pastel

Natalia and Art Yandell have lived in Clare since building their own home in 1993. In 1998 they returned to teaching in the N.T. on Aboriginal communities (Titjikala on Maryvale Station, Engawala on Alcoota Stn just off the Plenty Highway and Ipolera, west of Hermannsburg and Alice Springs), whilst also living part-time in Clare. They retired from teaching and have lived permanently back in Clare since 2005.

In 2007 Natalia joined the U3A painting and drawing class tutored by well-known local artist Gerald Moore.
Doing workshops with other local artists in the Clare region, as well as with visiting artists, and attending art classes at Tafe with Watervale artist Harry Sherwin – have all inspired Natalia to express the infinite variety of colour, shape and movement that she experienced during her ‘blocks’ of years living in the Australian outback since 1966.
