Jacqueline Coates – Make Money From Art – Mentor & Student Paintings

In February and March, Burra Regional Art Gallery will be host to the art of artist and art mentor Jacqueline Coates and selected works from students and graduates of her art school ‘Make Money From Art’.

Jacqueline Coates is known for her floral paintings and art gallery and studio Salon Rouge in Kapunda, South Australia. However ever since Jacqueline moved to South Australia in 2001 she has been asked by others to teach them how to paint. Over the years Jacqueline gradually developed her teaching offering from one day to a one week Blooms Painting Workshop.

In 2012 she took her teaching to whole new level creating an 18 month painting and business program when she realized that others wanted to enjoy the sort of lifestyle she was having as a full-time artist. The new teaching platform allowed others from Australia wide and overseas to develop art businesses with her mentoring.

How can one person run an entire art school and get great results?
‘I have assistants, and the course itself exists in manuals. Students receive skype mentoring, access an App with loads of videos and interviews, and have the option of coming to the Barossa Art Residency Live in for a week.

A test of success is that many students are now fulltime artists with six figure incomes. Several have their own galleries and others have had their work printed in ranges with international companies or in one case a fashion designer. Two have shown in America and the course itself has attracted students from Dubai, Singapore, America, Malaysia and New Zealand.’

Visitors to the show Make Money From Art will be able to enjoy a range of work and subject matter from Jacqueline’s students as well as see Jacqueline’s paintings. Burra Gallery will be offering one day workshops with Jacqueline.
You can also view the work at www.makemoneyfromartexhibition.blogspot.com.au from February 1, 2017. All artwork is for sale.

I’ve been really busy writing my course and teaching it. It’s almost five years later with over 100 students going through the program so it’s time to share what I’ve been up to! The exhibition at Burra also coincides with the launch of my new book, a memoir, called ‘Make Money From Art; How to live the creative dream and get paid for it’. The launch of the book will take place during the exhibition.

“Wake Up to your Creativity Every Day and Make a Living from it.

International artist, author, mentor and art teacher Jacqueline Coates, shares her inspiring journey of leaving the corporate world to follow her dream of becoming a successful artist.

From single to single mother, corporate to country. Jacqueline tells how she juggled single motherhood and established herself as an artist.

From a small country town in the Barossa she made a name for herself with her floral paintings and then moved on to become a globally recognised art teacher.”

70 minutes after Jacqueline Coates, Lyndall Kelley and Jo Siemienowicz first put paint to canvas…
with paint still wet it was auctioned on the day in spirited style by Regional Council of Goyder Burra Ward Councillor Darryl Venning. The hammer went down to Judith Booth at $1850 who then kindly in the spirit of the day upped the price to $2000 with full proceeds being donated to the our very grateful gallery.

Many thanks also to Schild Estate Wines for their sponsorship, with the generosity continuing, come into the gallery during this exhibition to pick up a special offer order form.
