Burra Regional Art Gallery is located on Market Street Burra, in the restored 1860 Post and Telegraph Office.

The gallery, opened by Kim Bonython in 1996, is a leading participant in the arts of the Mid North of SA. The building comprises two exhibition spaces and a well-stocked shop.

A history room contains, among other items, four watercolour paintings by ST Gill dated 1847 and 1850. The gallery has collections of the work of Len Bence and Barbara Hanrahan, and a recently donated collection of regional women painters.

Run by volunteers, the gallery comprises efficient, well-lit spaces amply suited to music, performance and visual art.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 1 pm – 4 pm.
